Kim is indebted to family, friends and mentors who’ve supported her through the good times, and challenging times, and continue to love and guide her.
Her parents are her biggest champions and she credits them for her unwavering sense of social justice, strong work ethic and “pay it forward” approach to life.
As a police reporter for much of her journalism career, Kim witnessed and shared stories exposing the very worst and the best of humanity.
She is often asked “who is the most famous person you’ve interviewed?” and while Kim has sat down with world leaders and global stars in the entertainment, business and sporting worlds it’s “the everyday people doing extraordinary things” as journos are often heard saying which have a firm place in her heart.
People like Bruce and Denise Morcombe who’ve turned an unthinkable tragedy into a legacy saving thousands of young lives and educating millions more. Kim is a proud Ambassador of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and Act For Kids and is passionate about working in the child protection and domestic and family violence space.
She is also a board member of LiteHaus International and member of the Children’s Hospital Foundation Legacy Advisory Board as well as a friend to many Queensland-based organisations donating time and professional services, including: Little Stars Foundation; Protea Place; Share The Dignity and Queensland Gives.
